Description

(Safety) temperature limiters or monitors ((S)TB) or ((S)TW) are used to monitor thermal processes and set the machine line to an operational safe status if malfunctions occur. If the admissible temperature limit is reached or an error occurs (probe breakage, short-circuit, failure of a component, mains failure) within the admissible temperature range, the device shut down the machine without delay. If no malfunction is pending, the TB and STB must be manually unlocked. This is possible by using an unlocking key on the device or an external unlocking key. The energy flow is only released once the temperature goes below (N/C function) or exceeds (N/O function) the set limit value by the hysteresis. In the event of a short-term mains failure (less than or equal to 1 min) in the machine line belt system, an automatic release is given once the mains returns. The hysteresis values of 3°C, 10°C, 30°C or 100°C are possible.
The analog limit value setting device for the limit temperature is fitted on the front. The unintentional or unauthorized adjustment of the limit value is prevented by a sealable transparent cover. The devices are designed as panel-mounting devices to be fastened on top hat rail as per DIN EN 50022-35. The screw terminals, line cross section max. 2.5mm2, for the electrical connection are located in a wiring level.
The devices operate in defined temperature ranges within 0...1800 °C (for extra code "SIL" and "DIN" 0 ... 1400°C).
